What if I have a Steam Deck reservation, can I reserve a Docking Station? How will it be handled?
If you already have a Steam Deck reservation and reserve a Docking Station too, we will do our best to deliver the Docking Station together with your Steam Deck. If there is stock of Docking Station when your Steam Deck reservation turn comes, we’ll send you the invoice for both the Steam Deck and the Docking Station together. If not we will only send the Steam Deck invoice, deliver it once paid, and send you the Docking Station one as soon as it’s back in Stock.
What does Docking Station come with?
The box comes with a Docking Station and power supply (same as the one we ship with Steam Deck).
Will it work with my monitor / TV / controller / random peripheral?
We’ve done extensive testing and have confirmed compatibility with a wide range of displays and peripherals. That said, there are thousands of displays and accessories in the world, so there’s a chance we missed it. If Docking Station is not compatible with your setup, please let us know in the Steam discussion forums so we can add support.
Will using Docking Station increase the performance of Steam Deck?
No, Docking Station provides charging and connectivity, but no additional performance benefits.

Will there ever be updates for the Dock?
Just like the Steam Deck, there will be ongoing support and improvements; you may experience a firmware update out of the box. Performing this update is as simple as plugging your Steam Deck in and going through the installation wizard.
Can Docking Station be used without a power supply?
Yes, Docking Station will function without a power supply, but the USB ports will have reduced throughput to conserve power due to the limited output power capabilities of the Steam Deck.
Can I use any USB-C dock with my Deck or do I have to get the official Docking Station?
You can use any dock you like. The work we’ve done to make Steam Deck and Docking Station compatible extends to other third party hubs and docks.
Why is there a reservation fee?
The main reason for reservations is to ensure an orderly and fair ordering process for customers when Steam Deck inventory becomes available. The additional fee gives us a clearer signal of intent to purchase, which gives us better data to balance supply chain, inventory, and regional distribution leading up to launch.
How does the reservation system work?
When you submit a reservation, you will be put in a queue. Once inventory is available, you will be emailed in the order the reservations were made.
How can I purchase the product after making a reservation?
As soon as we are able to secure stock for regular sales in Japan/Korea/Hong Kong/Taiwan, we will send purchase instructions to your registered e-mail address in the order of your pre-order. Purchases must be completed within 72 hours. If you do not complete your purchase within 72 hours, or if you cancel your reservation, the opportunity to purchase will be transferred to the next person on the waiting list.
Will there be any announcements and regarding shipping?
We are currently planning to start shipping at the end of 2022, but we will make delivery announcements on our reservation site and twitter (@OnDeckJP) as soon as they are confirmed.
When will I be able to order?
We will start sending order invitations in batches sometime in 2022. Customers will have 72 hours to complete their purchase – if they do not complete their purchase or cancel their reservation, their reservation slot will pass to the next person in the queue.
Can I cancel my reservation?
Yes, you can cancel your reservation. If you cancel, you will be refunded to whatever payment method you used. After reservation payment is complete contact us for cancellation.
What regions can I reserve Docking Station from?
Customers in Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan can reserve a Docking Station on this site.
How many Docking Stations can I reserve?
You can have only one active Docking Station reservation at a time.
What happens to my reservation fee if I do not order my Docking Station in time?
Your reservation fee will be refunded in full. You will be refunded to whatever payment method you used.
Are there any restrictions on users that can reserve the Docking Station?
Your delivery address must be in a valid country.
Do I need a Steam account to use Steam Deck?
The default Steam Deck experience requires a Steam account (it’s free!). Games are purchased and downloaded using the Steam Store. That said, Steam Deck is a PC so you can install third party software and operating systems.
Is the reservation queue regional?
Yes, the reservation queue and expected order availability times are specific to each region.
Can I change which Steam Deck I purchase once I’m able to order?
Once you’re able to order, you can only purchase the Steam Deck model that you reserved.
When will I be charged in full for Docking Station?
Once your reserved Docking Station is available and you complete your purchase, you will be charged.
Does the reservation fee count towards my Docking Station purchase price?
Yes.
Can I pay in installments?
Unfortunately, we do not accept installment payments.
I have completed the payment but the status remains as “Processing”.
The status “Processing” means that the deposit for the reservation has been completed.
It does not indicate “Completed” as there will be a step for the purchase and delivery later on.
I do not know what my login password is.
The initial password for My account is automatically generated and can be changed from .
If you have logged out, you can set a new password from the login screen under “Lost your password?”.
Can I select a different payment method or modify my address when purchasing the device?
You can select another payment method and change your address at the time of purchase.
I changed my address but it is not reflected in my order details.
Order details reflects the information at the time the reservation was placed, and will not reflect any changes made after.
Once the change has been made, the new address will be entered by default at the time of purchase.
Will my reservation number be updated if someone cancels?
We do not update the reservation numbers. We are unable to respond to inquiries for the current order of reservations.
