Portability meets power

Steam Deck’s custom APU was created in partnership with AMD, optimized for handheld gaming. It is a Zen 2 + RDNA 2 powerhouse, delivering more than enough performance to run the latest AAA games in a very efficient power envelope.

Your Steam Library, anywhere

Once you’ve logged into Steam Deck, your entire Steam Library shows up, just like any other PC. You’ll also see the compatibility rating of each game, indicating the kind of experience you can expect when playing. You can dynamically filter any view in your library by compatibility rating if you’re looking for specific sorts of experiences.

Control with comfort

The Steam Deck was built for extended play sessions—whether you’re using thumbsticks or trackpads—with full-size controls positioned perfectly within your reach. The rear of the device is sculpted to comfortably fit a wide range of hand sizes.

Steam Deck Purchase FAQ

While Steam Deck is now in stock and shipping, our production, processing, and shipping bandwidth is still finite. If order volume for a specific model of Steam Deck grows higher than our ability to ship it in a timely manner, delivery estimates will lengthen, and at a certain point we’ll flip back into reservation mode until we’re able to catch up.

Why is there a reservation fee?

The main reason for reservations is to ensure an orderly and fair ordering process for customers when Steam Deck inventory becomes available. The additional fee gives us a clearer signal of intent to purchase, which gives us better data to balance supply chain, inventory, and regional distribution leading up to launch.

How does the reservation system work?

When you submit a reservation, you will be put in a queue. Once inventory is available, you will be emailed in the order the reservations were made.

How can I purchase the product after making a reservation?

As soon as we are able to secure stock for regular sales in Japan/South Korea/Hong Kong/Taiwan, we will send purchase instructions to your registered e-mail address in the order of your pre-order. Purchases must be completed within 72 hours. If you do not complete your purchase within 72 hours, or if you cancel your reservation, the opportunity to purchase will be transferred to the next person on the waiting list.

Can I cancel my reservation?

Yes, you can cancel your reservation. If you cancel, you will be refunded to whatever payment method you used. After reservation payment is complete contact us for cancellation.

What regions can I reserve Steam Deck from?

Customers in Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan can reserve a Steam Deck on this site.

How many Steam Decks can I reserve?

You can have only one active Steam Deck reservation at a time.

What happens to my reservation fee if I do not order my Steam Deck in time?

Your reservation fee will be refunded in full. You will be refunded to whatever payment method you used.

Are there any restrictions on users that can reserve the Steam Deck?

Your delivery address must be in a valid country.

Do I need a Steam account to use Steam Deck?

The default Steam Deck experience requires a Steam account (it’s free!). Games are purchased and downloaded using the Steam Store. That said, Steam Deck is a PC so you can install third party software and operating systems.

Is the reservation queue regional?

Yes, the reservation queue and expected order availability times are specific to each region.

Can I change which Steam Deck I purchase once I’m able to order?

Once you’re able to order, you can only purchase the Steam Deck model that you reserved.

When will I be charged in full for Steam Deck?

Once your reserved Steam Deck is available and you complete your purchase, you will be charged.

Does the reservation fee count towards my Steam Deck purchase price?

Can I pay in installments?

Unfortunately, we do not accept installment payments.

I have completed the payment but the status remains as “Processing”.

The status “Processing” means that the deposit for the reservation has been completed.
It does not indicate “Completed” as there will be a step for the purchase and delivery later on.

I do not know what my login password is.

The initial password for My account is automatically generated and can be changed from .
If you have logged out, you can set a new password from the login screen under “Lost your password?”.

Can I select a different payment method or modify my address when purchasing the device?

You can select another payment method and change your address at the time of purchase.

I changed my address but it is not reflected in my order details.

Order details reflects the information at the time the reservation was placed, and will not reflect any changes made after.
Once the change has been made, the new address will be entered by default at the time of purchase.

Will my reservation number be updated if someone cancels?

We do not update the reservation numbers. We are unable to respond to inquiries for the current order of reservations.

Are units shipped in order of reservation date or payment date?

We send payment request emails in the order that reservations were made. Once payment is received, your order will be queued up for the next batch of shipments, which is in the order in which reservations were made.

I just paid for my order and would like to request a refund. How can I do so?

If you would like to request a refund, please check our refund policy for eligibility and contact customer support using this online contact form. We will respond with the details to complete your request.

Please note that we are unable to cancel delivery once your order is being prepared for shipment, as indicated when your order status displays “Processing”. However, you may still return your order within 14 days of receipt and receive a refund. To do so, please check our refund policy for eligibility and contact our customer support team using this contact form.

How long does it take to ship after making payment?

Shipment typically occurs a few days after payment, however during high volume periods, shipment times may vary from a few days to a few weeks. You will receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order has shipped.
※Please note that shipping times for initial launch units are based on the official launch day of 12/17.
※If there are any issues with the customer address information you provided, such as an invalid phone number, address format, or address not in the local language commonly used by couriers in your region, this may cause a delivery delay.
